WELCOME
The Society for the Study of Early China is a scholarly, non-profit society that aims to foster scholarly exchange and communication among all people interested in the culture and civilization of China from earliest times down through the end of the Han dynasty in 220 CE. Its role is to further the progress of studies within this field and within Sinology in general.

The SSEC’s journal, Early China, publishes original research on all aspects of the cultures and civilizations of China from earliest times through the end of the Eastern Han dynasty period (CE 220).
Anyone can be a member of the SSEC, and support its work.
