The SSEC’s journal, Early China, publishes original research on all aspects of the culture and civilization of China from earliest times through the end of the Eastern Han dynasty period (CE 220). The journal is interdisciplinary in scope, including articles on Chinese archaeology, history, philosophy, religion, literature, paleography, and other fields. It is a premiere English-language journal dedicated solely to early China. The journal is of interest to scholars of archaeology, history, religion, and of other ancient cultures outside the field of Sinology.
